Getting Started

Step 1: Create a User and Log into GitHub
  1. Go to https://github.com and click on "Sign Up" if you don't have an account.
  2. Fill in the required information to create your GitHub account.
  3. Once your account is created, log into GitHub.

Step 2: Login to Jupyer Hub
  1. Go to Jupyter Hub and click the "Login with Github" button.
  2. Log into/authorize Github if you have not already
  3. You will be greeted by a 403 error message. This is normal

Step 3: Email Your Username to Professor Lundquist
  1. Professor Lundquist needs to initialize your person server.
  2. Email your username (case sensitive) to [email protected]
  3. Allow for 24 hours for Professor Lundquist to confirm your username.
  4. Once you have received a confirmation email, you now have full access to your Python lab.

Step 5: Read the Syllabus

Download and read the course syllabus carefully. It contains important information about the course, including:

  • Course objectives and learning outcomes
  • Grading policies and assignments
  • Course schedule and important due dates

Step 6: Watch the lecture videos from 2023

There are a total of 13 lectures from the Fall 2023 version of this course. All material is the same, but some visuals may be different/updated

Step 7: Check out the Assignment and Quizzes on Brightspace

All assignments, portfolios, and final project will be submitted under "Assignments" on Brightspace. There are also three timed "Quizzes" that you will also need to take. Check the course schedule for due dates.
